RPA in the preparation process of court cases
One of the applications for which RPA is used involves creating a preparation form for court cases using various PDF documents. Within this system, each court has the ability to manage its own settings using a local Excel document. This innovative approach has the potential to drastically reduce the manual preparation process of court cases, which previously took 5,000 hours per year per court. Moreover, up to eleven courts can benefit from this solution.
The UiPath softbot and automation
The virtual assistant is a UiPath softbot, which retrieves both data from a primary process system and the case documents. Specific words and phrases, important legal articles or claims are then highlighted, and bookmarks are created in the PDF. These preparation articles then aid in quickly clarifying the documents in preparation for a case. The end result is a document where all legal articles are also directly linked with a hyperlink and to the bookmark.
Innovative techniques and flexible management
An interesting twist to this softbot is that multiple techniques are used: standard UiPath components, RegEx, snippets of Python, VBA. All of these come together in one UiPath softbot. Additionally, another unique characteristic is the local management via an Excel file. This allows courts to adjust the settings themselves, including the words that need to be recognized, making the softbot even more flexible.
