At MvR Digital Workforce, we believe that intelligent automation is the key to optimizing business processes and increasing operational efficiency. Recently, we supported a leading transport company in their digital transformation by analyzing complex challenges, selecting the right technology, and creating a robust framework for sustainable growth.

Analyzing the challenges
The transport company faced several operational bottlenecks: manual and time-consuming administrative tasks within their Transport Management System (TMS), including order intake, planning, and reporting, as well as inefficiencies around their workforce management system. We began with a thorough analysis to determine which processes would benefit the most from automation, focusing on improving data accuracy and reducing human actions in repetitive tasks.

Technology Selection
Based on this analysis, we selected a combination of Intelligent Orchestration combined with Python and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). These technologies offered the flexibility and scalability needed to automate repetitive tasks around the TMS and workforce management system while providing real-time insights into process execution. 

Initial Process Automation
Our initial automation efforts focused on key TMS processes such as order intake, scheduling updates, and reporting, alongside workforce-related workflows like employee data management and time tracking. By deploying software robots for these routine tasks, staff could concentrate on higher-value activities that require human judgment. This directly resulted in significant time savings and improved accuracy.

Policy and Governance
To ensure a successful and sustainable implementation, we worked closely with the transport company to develop a governance framework. This framework defines responsibilities, policies, and guidelines for the use of intelligent automation within the organization, ensuring a consistent approach and fostering knowledge sharing. It also adequately safeguards privacy and security.
