Last year, the fair ICT&Logistics took place in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht. During this three-day event, solutions were presented for almost every logistics challenge.
It is now widely known that AI is indispensable in modern logistics. We spoke with various organizations, exhibitors, and visitors. The issues discussed often revolved around how to reduce manual work surrounding personnel planning, systems, and TMS (Transport Management Systems); how processes can be executed 24/7; and how to become less dependent on the specific knowledge that is present among colleagues. Additionally, the seamless integration of processes across multiple systems was frequently mentioned, along with the opportunities AI offers to play an important role in that.
AI projects can often be significantly improved through better data, stronger models, the right solutions, simplified processes, and a clear strategic added value, ultimately leading to a higher ROI. Moreover, you need to be able to leverage the right data at the right time. It is also extremely important to put people and the business at the center and give (agentic) AI a supportive role.
The industry is in transformation and needs knowledge and support from true specialists who were at the forefront of digitization in the Netherlands. We see the challenges in the logistics sector and feel called to tackle these together with the industry.
